Adam, originally from Poland, has been involved with industry since his youth, where he attended technical high school in his hometown, a center for textile manufacturing. In the U.S., he had been working as a manual lathe operator for 8 years when business took a turn for the worse. Adam realized he needed to update his skill set and obtain some type of credentials to demonstrate his knowledge and experience. He went to his local workNet Dupage career center and found out about Symbol's certificate program. He had also heard about Symbol through a former co-worker, so Adam decided to check it out. Before his training at Symbol even ended, Adam found a job working on a Mazak CNC Lathe close to his home. He is quite happy in his new job, supporting his wife and two children. When asked to give advice to newcomers to the industry, he says it is most important to be curious, ask lots of questions, and never give up. Adam definitely has something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving... a job with great pay and transferable skills and credentials that will serve him well throughout his manufacturing career.
