Protecting Your Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Symbol Training Institute pledges to be responsible when gathering your personal information and to protect your privacy. Symbol takes great care to protect personal information about you and when we use it, we do so with respect for your privacy. We use personal information about you to provide services; maintain your account; process transactions; respond to inquiries or to fulfill legal and regulatory requirements.

Information We Collect and How We Collect It

In order to provide services to you, and manage our business, we collect and maintain personal information about you. Symbol collects customer information from many sources to understand and meet your needs. We collect personal information about you from:
- You, when you voluntarily provide us with information;
- Your web browser, when you visit our web site and your browser interacts with us;
- Merchant services when you conduct financial transactions with us;
- Other sources, in connection with providing you nursing education services.

The personal information we collect about you through these various sources may include, but is not limited to:
- Name, addresses and telephone numbers
- Date of birth and gender
- Email addresses
- Social Security numbers
- Education transcripts and academic records
- Citizenship, nationality, race and ethnicity
- Credit/debit card number(s), including associated billing address(es) and expiration date(s)
- Transactional and online activity data pertaining to admission and student activities
- Personal information provided via survey and other marketing research efforts
- Personal information provided to customer-service representatives
- Employment information, employer and/or other corporate affiliation (i.e. employer name, title, address and contact information)

Aggregate information

In addition to obtaining your personal information, when you use our site, we may collect tracking information such as your browser type, the type of operating system you use, the name of your Internet service provider, and pages visited on our site.

Although most of this information is collected from you when you submit it voluntarily, some of it may be collected automatically by use of a "cookie." Cookies are small text files that reside on your computer and identify you as a unique user. Cookies allow us to, among other things, measure activity on our website and to personalize your experience on our website. Minors (under age of 17)

Symbol does not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 17. If you are under the age of 17, please do not provide your name and address or other contact details or any other personally identifiable information of any kind whatsoever.

If you are a Parent or Guardian of someone under the age of 18 who has provided us information without your knowledge and consent, you may request that we remove this information by calling our Customer Service.

How Your Information Will Be Used

Symbol uses personally identifiable information to complete transactions and fulfill requests for our services.

We use the information that we collect to complete a contact or request; to better understand your needs, to provide to marketing, to improve our products and services, and to contact you.

Sharing Information That You Provide With Others

Generally we do not give or sell your information, including your personally identifiable information, with outside companies except in the following situations:

• Blogs and Online Communities. You may choose to submit information as part of a blog or online community offered by Symbol. Any information you choose to post, including personally identifiable information, may be available generally to the public, or to other members of the blog or online community.
• Subcontractors. We may share your information with subcontractors that provide us with services. These services may include, among other things, helping to provide services that you request, helping to create or maintain our databases, helping to research and analyze the people who request services or information from us, helping to provide marketing or solicitation materials for our products or services, and/or helping to process payment card information.
• Law Enforcement. We may report to law enforcement agencies any activities that we reasonably believe to be unlawful, or that we reasonably believe may aid a law enforcement investigation into unlawful activity. In addition, we reserve the right to release your information to law enforcement agencies if we determine, in our sole judgment, that either you have violated our policies, or the release of your information may protect the rights, property or safety of you or another person.
• Permitted by Law. We may share your information with others as required by, or permitted by, law. This may include sharing your information with governmental entities, or third parties in response to subpoenas, court orders, other legal process, or as we believe is necessary to exercise our legal rights, to defend against legal claims that have been brought against us, or to defend against possible legal claims that we determine in our sole discretion might be brought against us.
• Transfers. In the event that Symbol Training Institute, or substantially all of Symbol assets, are acquired, your Information will be transferred to the acquiring entity. In such a situation, you will be provided with notice that a transfer of your Information is imminent, and you will be given an opportunity to opt-out of the transfer of your information.

Security

Information Security is important at Symbol. We maintain strict physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information. We have taken commercially reasonable steps to protect the information to prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure the appropriate use of information we gather about you. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure.

Symbol Mailbox

The Symbol does not intend to monitor the contents of e-mail sent to or from Symbol servers, except to identify and correct problems with E-mail delivery or receipt, to work with email system problems, or to deal with misconduct or security issues. Electronic logs of who sends and receives e-mail through Symbol servers are maintained for a short period of time. This information may be used to analyze trends, create summary statistics for internal planning purposes, and to otherwise aid in maintaining system performance and security. E-mail related information is stored on a temporary basis and may only be released if legally mandated by law enforcement investigators, required by court proceedings, or it is deemed necessary to internal investigations of violations of Symbol rules and regulations. The names and e-mail addresses of Symbol of Denver students, faculty, and staff are available in a searchable index. An individual may opt out of this index and have his/her name removed by contacting the Administrator at administrator@symboltraining.edu.

Third-Party Websites

We may provide hyperlinks to third-party websites as a convenience to users of symboltraining.edu. Symbol does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for the contents of any linked-to, third-party websites or any hyperlink in a linked-to website. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of third-party websites.

Third-Party Cookies

Cookies may be set by an organization other than symboltraining.edu. These “third-party cookies” may, for example, originate from websites such as YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus or other social media services for which symboltraining.edu has implemented “plug-ins.” Since the cookie policies of these sites change over time, you should determine their policies by visiting the privacy policy pages of these sites directly.

Privacy Modifications

Symbol reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. We will post any changes here, so be sure to check back periodically. Although this Privacy Policy is not a contract and does not create any legal rights, it does serve as an expression of Symbol's commitment to protecting private personal information. By using the Site and providing us with your personally identifiable information, you consent to our use of such information as described in this Policy.
