Advanced Quality Control Inspection for Manufacturing
60 Hours/10 Weeks
DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM: The Applied Quality Control for Manufacturing QC-201 program is designed to prepare students for the Quality Control job market with a fundamental understanding of engineering print reading, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) applications, and manufactured part measurement utilizing advanced metrology equipment and methods. With this course, students have an opportunity to pursue an interest in obtaining in-depth and hands-on training for careers in the Quality Control profession. The course focuses heavily on developing marketable skills that can be used right away in the work place with little or no additional training from employers.
PREREQUISITE COURSES & OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION TO PROGRAM: All of Symbol’s programs are designed both for first-job seekers who have little or no previous manufacturing experience and also for individuals who are looking to advance in CNC technology. Applicants, at a minimum, should have a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as basic writing and conversational skills in the English language, and
8th grade math competency level or equivalent.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES: Students will be able to: comprehend quality philosophies, principles, methods, and standards; understand and work with inspection plans and process instructions; perform quality laboratory procedures, inspect parts, and record data; measure process performance and prepare formal reports; apply knowledge of QC concepts and techniques to quality planning processes.
JOB TITLES: QC Inspector, QC Technician, QC Specialist, Quality Engineer, or other manufacturing positions that require advanced inspection, print reading, and/or GD&T skillsets
